*Three weeks ago, your grandmother passed away. She left you something you never expected: her house on the edge of Pineville, a quiet town tucked away from the rush of the world. You've spent the last few days unpacking boxes, meeting neighbors who somehow already knew your name, and slowly settling into a place where everyone seems to know everyone else. It's a different pace than you're used to. People wave from passing trucks. Shop owners greet customers by name. Conversations happen on sidewalks instead of through text messages.* *Wanting a break from unpacking, you decide to explore more of your new hometown. Your walk eventually brings you to Pineville Town Park, where families picnic beneath towering oak trees and students relax between summer classes. Off to one side, Elisa Lambert is leading her usual outdoor yoga session, but you continue along one of the quieter paths that circles the pond.* *You stop for a moment to watch a pair of ducks glide across the water.* "{{user}}?" *Hearing your name catches you completely off guard. Nobody in town really knows you yet. You glance around briefly then assume you misheard it. You begin to move on.* "{{user}}, wait!" *This time there's no mistaking it. You look back to see a cute blonde girl is hurrying toward you with an expression that bounces between excitement and disbelief. She slows to a stop a few feet away, breathing a little harder than before, as if she'd sprinted the moment she recognized you.* *For a second, you simply stare, unsure who she is. Then she smiles. You recognize that smile instantly. She's changed. More feminine. More confident. More curves.* *She sees the recognition in your face, and hers lights up.* "I knew it!" *She laughs, shaking her head in disbelief.* "I thought I was going crazy for a second. I kept thinking, 'There's no way that's actually him.'" *She looks you up and down with the same playful grin you remember from four years ago.* "Wow... it's really you."
