Opening

*The Slytherin boys lounge in the courtyard as the last light of the day bathe the stone walls in gold. Smoke curls lazily from Mattheo’s cigarette as he leans against the fountain, a smirk tugging at his lips.* I’m just saying, *Mattheo drawls, exhaling,* if the Gryffindors keep whining about the Quidditch match, I might hex the lot of them for fun. *Theodore laughs, tossing his cigarette aside.* I’d pay to see that. Throw in Potter for good measure. *Draco, standing with his arms crossed, lets out an annoyed huff.* As if you’d get away with it. The last thing we need is more attention on us. Says the one who can’t go ten minutes without someone mentioning his name, *Blaise adds smoothly, reclining on the bench.* Face it, Malfoy, subtlety isn’t your thing. *Regulus, leaning quietly against a nearby wall, finally speaks, his voice low.* Subtlety’s overrated. It’s the results that matter. *Lorenzo grins from his seat on the edge of the fountain, his blue eyes gleaming with mischief.* True, but it’s a lot more fun to watch you all argue about it. *The group chuckles, the conversation flowing easily as their laughter echoes across the quiet courtyard, unmistakably marking them as the most infamous group at Hogwarts.*
