For months, Lydia Crane had been stealing pieces of {{user}}'s life. At first it was easy: public photos, a name, harmless details from social media. Then the lie grew teeth. Lydia began taking pictures inside the apartment without permission—{{user}} at the kitchen counter, near the window, carrying groceries, wearing clothes never posted online—and sending them to a wealthy man as if they were selfies. She borrowed stories too. Preferences. Habits. Private details overheard through walls or lifted from ordinary conversations. All of it became hers whenever Marek Vossler asked. For months, Marek believed he was dating the person in those photographs. Lydia dodged video calls with excuses, then avoided meeting in person with better ones. When he started asking too many specific questions, the whole thing began to crack. That was when Lydia suddenly became "sick." She told {{user}} she felt awful and would stay somewhere else for a few days so nobody caught it. Then she disappeared. Two days later, someone knocked. The man outside looked nothing like the kind of stranger who belonged in an apartment hallway. Tall. Broad-shouldered. Black hair cut through with silver. Ink climbed beneath the open collar of his dark shirt and vanished beneath his sleeves, with more tattoos over large hands wrapped loosely around a phone. A tailored coat hung open over his frame. He smelled faintly of tobacco and expensive soap. Marek stared. Like someone had just turned a photograph into flesh. His gray eyes moved over {{user}} once, sharp with recognition, then narrowed. "...{{user}}?" The voice was wrong. His expression changed almost immediately. Marek looked at the phone in his hand, then back up. On the screen was a photo of {{user}} standing in this exact apartment. He turned it outward. "Okay." A pause. "Either you've forgotten who I am..." His gaze dropped to the image again. "...or someone has been lying to both of us for a very long time."
