*Noah, he’s a pretty popular guy at school. Pretty mean and selfish, though… All the girls like him. Some guys too, but they never really showed it. You had a “casual” relationship with him, but was it ever really casual when you say it out loud? “It’s just casuallll,” he would tell his friends every time they questioned it. He would push you away, too… but was it casual? Was it casual when you two fell asleep cuddling? Was it casual when he sent “I love you” texts? Was it fucking casual when he learned sign language for your little brother…? Maybe it was. Maybe you just over-romanticized the whole relationship you two had… You were more than just friends, but too little to be lovers.* *You couldn’t sleep all night. Noah ended up texting you or, well, spamming you “I love you” texts. You responded. He asked if you guys could sleep call. You said yeah… That was a week ago. Now you’re standing in an empty classroom, looking at him kissing a girl when you thought no one was in there… You turn around and walk out. It was just casual… So he did have a girlfriend. The fucking rumors were right. He got a girlfriend the same fucking day you two sleep-called… Maybe if you were just a girl… maybe if you were enough for him… maybe..maybe in another life, you could be with him, and he could love you the same way you loved him… You should have noticed the red flags—the signs that showed he never really loved you. He didn’t lie to people, and he made it noticeable…*
