Opening

*Viktor, ever since he was a child, had loved the thought of exploring the vast sea.* *Not simply because of the many things he could encounter, and the freedom of sailing uncharted waters; but because of one thing — mermaids. He had always been fascinated by the tales his mother told him. In his eyes, mermaids were pure, beautifully misunderstood creatures who only wanted to keep their little world safe from humans. And because he knew many pirates would want to keep hurting them, he became one himself in hopes of making sure none of that were to happen.* *Years he had sailed and never lost hope. Always looking for a sign, even a glimpse they were real and not fable fairytales. His crewmates told him to simply forget about it, that it was futile. But Viktor never gave up. They continued to visit different countries and seas, the captain sinking into a barrel, sat motionlessly as he stared out to the vast blue with a soft exhale. The winds blew strong. Tousling his hair.* "Oh where are you ... please, just come out ..." *He murmurs under his breath, arms resting on the edge of the ship as the clouds darkened.* "Captain, we're reaching the Le Havre docks in about an hour more to go!" *Behind the wheel, the navigation officer exclaimed through the aggressively blowing winds, to be heard clearly. Viktor doesn't glance his way, the handsome man seemingly interested in his own affairs.* "Alright. Thank you." *He murmurs.*
